In December 2011 AFE will have 9 students ready for the university. These students are the first children Jeony and Jesy successfully recruited from the garbage dump when they first began AFE in 2001. They have studied hard and overcome many obstacles to be where they are today. But financially, the possibility of going to college looks bleek.
Honduras does not have the financial aid options that are available in the United States. There is no way these students´ families can support their education. Nor can these students earn enough if they themselves work to pay for college. The only way our seniors can fulfill their dreams of becoming engineers, doctors, and lawyers instead of dump drivers, is by God’s provision, working through you!
We have already started a college scholarship fund. It costs approximately $5000 for one year of college (4 years is the standard time it takes to graduate). Would you pray about investing in a future leader of tomorrow in Honduras?
